A large majority of people are msn instant messenger users.
Since updates I have found that msn messenger have been lacking in the area of customization and have been getting more visually oriented.
Yet still not catering for my personal tastes
late 2007 I went on my journey of replacing resources and messing around in msn in order to get the functionality that had been taken away from me in previous versions.
Just something I thought I would spend a little spare time towards to improve my efficiency in messaging..
however on my journey of knowledge I bumped into a talented designer and coder Will Ingles
who helped with certain aspects of dll resource implementation. In order for me to get my desired goal
For a program that is running for a majority of the time I believe it should be aesthetically pleasing to match the user’s desktop.
And at the same time have options and functionality to personalize the style for themselves to some extent as well.
Willz suggested I make a total remake of msn 8.5 with the new releasing msn plus .
After a lot of convincing I started making mockups and prototypes. But as soon as I realized how much work I was in for, the concept suddenly seemed not feasible as a holiday project
I would easily have to invest over 3 months learning everything there was to know about resource coding for msn
Especially as willz hadn’t released a resource guide by then.
Soon after realizing this I went straight to him and stated my predicament, I have a great design, Great ideas for the design, But I am unable to implement it in a realistic timeframe.
willz had agreed that he would turn my dream into a possibility within a realistic timeframe.
The next month was solid collaboration with willz in order to get all the graphical aspects working and more importantly the code. Day after day for almost a month we worked together not only seeing what would work well with designs.
But mostly will’s hard work on the back end code.
Implementing functionality that I found essential of a good quality msn messenger.
The conclusion is a skin that definitely won’t disappoint
